True Blue Roofing Pty Ltd have just had the pleasure of installing a new roof on a new home at Zeally Sands estate in Torquay, Victoria.  Torquay is a part of the Surf Coast Shire council and is known as one of the most popular surfing destinations in Australia.

This project involved the supply and installation of new Colorbond roofing iron in two different profiles:

• Klip-Lok / Deck iron in Colorbond Windspray®
• Custom Orb / Corrugated iron in Colorbond Windspray®

The reason different metal profiles can be selected for the same home usually relates to the degree pitch of the roof design.  If the degree of pitch is less than 5 degrees, Klip-Lok / Deck iron is a suitable option.  It has a range of benefits such as those listed on the Lysaght website:

• Excellent water carrying capacity

• Easy-to-install fixing clip means roof can be laid faster and more economically

For New roofs that have a degree of pitch of 5 degrees or more then a custom orb / corrugated profile is one suitable option.  The benefits listed on the Lysaght website include the following:

• Can be used for both roofing and walling applications
• Available in a wide variety of COLORBOND® steel colours
• Roof sheet lengths of up to 24m can be used before an expansion joint is required
• Can be laid flat or sprung curved for increased versatility
