Historic Lara Cottage Roof Replacement

True Blue Roofing have recently completed this roof replacement project on a historic cottage located in Lara, near Geelong.  Lara (earlier known as Duck Ponds) is a residential suburb in the City of Greater Geelong covering an area of 14.5 square kilometres.  It is situated 15 km north‐east of the city of Geelong.

True Blue Roofing were called in to remove the old Galvanised Corrugated iron (custom orb) roof and replace it with a brand new Zincalume corrugated iron roof.  The roof replacement project involved the supply and installation of the following metal roofing elements:

  • Zincalume 0.42 corrugated iron.
  • Zincalume Quad gutter.
  • Colorbond box gutter.
  • Zincalume rain water heads.
  • Zincalume flashing/capping.
  • Zincalume ridges
  • Zincalume valleys

This historic re-roofing project also required the following:

  • Supply and installation of PVC 75mm round downpipes.
  • Removal of existing battens.
  • Re-fixing of existing battens to rafters and replace where required to ensure the structural integrity of the roof
  • Hand rails installed to ensure a safe working environment for our staff to complete the works
  • Removal of all old tin / rubbish we create from site

True Blue Roofing take great pride in restoring heritage roofs.  The new Zincalume roof will provide the current owners of the property peace of mind that any internal restorations will be safely guarded by their new water tight roof that is in keeping with the heritage facade.
