Metal Roofing, Architectural Cladding & Custom Flashings for Geelong Builders
August 30, 2026A well-finished metal roof can look simple.
Usually, that means the complicated parts have been handled properly.
On a quality build, the roof rarely exists in isolation. It meets parapets, wall cladding, skylights, box gutters, cappings, windows, doors and other materials. Those elements need to work together technically, visually and practically on site.
That is where having roofing and fabrication within the same business makes a real difference.
True Blue Roofing has been operating in the Geelong region since 2005. Today, we provide metal roofing, architectural metal cladding and custom flashings for builders across Geelong, the Bellarine Peninsula, Surf Coast and surrounding areas.
Our trade background spans roof plumbing, sheet metal work and boilermaking, backed by our own fabrication workshop in Lara. It is a combination that allows us to handle much more of the roofing and architectural metalwork package within one business.
Roofing and fabrication working together
For a standard metal roof, many of the components are straightforward.
Architectural projects can involve a lot more.
Parapet cappings, box gutters, skylight details, architectural wall cladding, transitions between materials, custom flashings and one-off folded components may all form part of the finished job.
We understand both sides of that work: how the roofing needs to be installed and perform, and how the metalwork around it needs to be fabricated to achieve the right result.
Because our workshop and roofing team are part of the same business, fabrication and installation work together rather than being treated as separate scopes.
The measurements taken on site inform what is made in the workshop. The custom components are fabricated with an understanding of how they will be installed. And the finished roofing, cladding and flashings can be considered as one package rather than a collection of unrelated pieces.
For a builder, that means fewer moving parts and one experienced team responsible for a larger portion of the architectural metalwork.
In-house sheet metal fabrication in Lara
Our Lara workshop allows us to manufacture the custom components that complete a roofing or cladding project.
We fabricate architectural cladding panels, custom roof and wall flashings, parapet cappings, box gutters, rainheads, transition pieces and other project-specific folded metalwork.
Having that capability in-house gives us direct control over the fit and finish of the components our team will ultimately install.

It is also practical.
If site conditions require a custom component or an adjustment to the metalwork, we have the equipment and trade experience to deal with it within our own business.
Good problem-solving should make a build easier, not create more work for the builder.
Our job is to understand our part of the project, work through the details efficiently and keep the roofing and metalwork moving.
Architectural roofing and cladding is all about the details
Architectural metalwork leaves very little room for inconsistency.
Straight lines need to stay straight. Panel layouts need to work across an elevation. Corners and termination points need to be clean. Cappings need to sit properly. Roofing and wall cladding need to meet neatly.

And underneath the finished appearance, everything still needs to perform as roofing should.
Good architectural metalwork brings design, fabrication and installation together.
Our role is to deliver the architect’s design intent accurately while applying the practical roof plumbing and fabrication knowledge needed for the finished metalwork to perform properly.
That balance matters to us.
A clean flashing still needs to manage water. A beautifully finished cladding system still needs properly detailed junctions. And a metal roof needs to perform long after the build is complete.
Our Sutherlands Creek metal roofing and architectural cladding project is a good example of that combination.
The project included metal roofing and custom-fabricated architectural wall cladding, with detailed transitions and a concealed door incorporated into the cladding.
It is the type of project where having roofing, fabrication and installation capability within one business makes sense.
One metalwork package can make the build simpler
There is a practical advantage for builders in being able to package metal roofing, architectural cladding and custom flashings together.
These elements often interact.
A parapet capping meets the wall cladding below it. A custom flashing connects one material to another. A roof detail may need to integrate with glazing, cladding or another part of the building.

When those components are being handled together, there is greater continuity from fabrication through to installation.
It also reduces the number of separate suppliers and trades the builder needs to coordinate for the metalwork package.
We know builders already have enough moving parts to manage.
Our aim is to make our part straightforward.
Quality and commercial sense should go together
Detailed work does not need to mean making a project more complicated or expensive than it needs to be.
Our in-house fabrication capability helps us remain commercially competitive because much of the custom work can be manufactured directly through our own workshop.
It also gives us better control over turnaround, accuracy and quality rather than relying on a separate fabricator for every custom component.
Experience matters commercially as well.
Getting measurements right, fabricating accurately and knowing how components will go together before they reach site helps avoid unnecessary handling, rework and wasted time.
For us, quality and efficiency are part of the same job.
Metal roofing and architectural cladding for Geelong builders
We work with builders across Geelong, Lara, the Bellarine Peninsula, Surf Coast and surrounding areas on new metal roofing, architectural wall cladding and custom sheet metal fabrication.
The projects that suit our capabilities particularly well are those where the roofing or metalwork forms an important part of the finished architecture, or where having roofing, cladding and custom fabrication within the same team makes the job simpler.
Our approach is straightforward: understand the scope, fabricate accurately, work efficiently with the other trades on site and deliver roofing and metalwork that performs properly and looks right.
