St Leonards Re-roofing Project

True Blue Roofing have been working on this Re-roofing (roof replacement) project in St Leonards, Victoria.  St Leonards is a small coastal town 33 kilometers east of Geelong.  It is a popular destination for holidays, retirees and those looking for a quite lifestyle near the water.

The existing aging roof was causing stress to the owner in the form of extensive rust damage and leaks after rain.  Due to the flat roof and rust that had developed over many years it can be impossible and costly to repair without any guarantees the leak could be sourced so it was decided it was time for the entire roof to be replaced.  You can see the extensive rust damage in the photo gallery below:

True Blue Roofing were call upon to install guardrails, remove the old roofing iron, supply and install new roof battens with a greater pitch than the original roof to ensure no water pooling on the new roof, install new 55mm Roof blanket and then install the new 0.48 Zincalume Deck Iron Roof giving the client peace of mind for all weather conditions moving forward! 0.48 Zincalume is used for roofing or cladding because of its durability, strength, corrosion resistance, cost-effectiveness, and modern aesthetic appeal. It is particularly well-suited for environments with harsh weather conditions, in this case St Leonards as it’s a coastal area, and for projects where long-term performance and low maintenance are priorities.

We installed all new Colorbond barge capping, Zincalume chimney flashings and PVC downpipes to existing gutters.  Not only does the roof look good, but the home will be more comfortable to live in with the installation of 55mm roof blanket.

A 55mm roof blanket is a type of insulation material used in roofing . The “55mm” indicates the thickness of the insulation, and “roof blanket” describes a roll of insulation. The 55mm thickness provides a moderate level of thermal insulation, helping to reduce heat transfer through the roof. It can improve energy efficiency by keeping homes cooler in summer and warmer in winter. A 55mm roof blanket is a moderately thick insulation material that improves thermal and acoustic performance in a building’s roof. It’s commonly used in residential and commercial buildings to enhance comfort and energy efficiency.
