Lorne Architectural Cladding Project features Corten Flat Lock Panelling

October 16, 2017

True Blue Roofing have recently completed this architecturally designed residence in Lorne.  Lorne is a seaside town situated along the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia.

We were called in to complete all of the roofing and walling requirements of this build including the manufacture of the 460 wide Flat Lock Corten panels for the walling as shown in the gallery below.  Corten is also known as ‘weathered steel’ or ‘weathering steel’.  We just love the effect this architectural wall cladding option has on the facade of the home.

As you can see in the gallery above, the Flat Lock panelling system is a simple, elegant cladding solution that provides a flat seam.  The system uses a interlocking fold which in this case has been installed vertically but can also be used in other applications horizontally.  This system must be installed on a plywood substrate.  We also custom made all of the weathering steel flashings to suit the residential roofing project.

The roofing requirements involved supply and install of Colorbond Ultra Klip Lok, with Colorbond Ultra capping and aprons.  We custom made stainless steel box gutter & sump.  Insulation blanket was also installed on the roof.  We also provided the safety guardrails on this project.

True Blue Roofing have been servicing The Great Ocean Road, Lorne, The Surf Coast, Geelong and Melbourne for over 11 years in all areas of roofing, wall cladding and online roofing supplies via our shop.

We are able to manufacture all types of architectural metal cladding and are happy to supply panels only or supply and install as per your specific requirements.  If you have an upcoming project that you would like to chat to us about, contact us today.
